*****RH: no, we had not presented either the WG-web group or the membership
with the choices, and pros and cons, and I am not aware that "WE" were ready
to appoint Sotiris a week ago, though I would be happy to consider Sotiris.
If "WE" is the panel, then I don't think you can speak for the panel,
Jamie*****

*****RH: again, that may be YOUR perception Jamie, but I don't think there
was any panel consensus on that - at least, no-one ever got in touch with me
about it - are there private conversations going on between some panel
members and are they the "WE" you refer to?*****

*****RH: Who is the "WE" please? The panel has not recommended anything of
the sort. It's one option. Sotiris is another option. A Jefsey-style
atlarge.org structure with multiple webmasters is another.*****

*****RH: Before that, we need to set out clear choices to the membership and
consult on the advantages and disadvantages of those choices*****

*****RH: Jamie apologises for any frustration over this. We all need to be
magnanimous. I've rushed in before, trying to rush things, and as a
community we need give and take - let's just get things right*****

The "WE" here is really the whole membership, and the whole panel - the
MOTION was no doubt well-intentioned, but it was ill-phrased and premature.
There should be a preceding process, a list of choices, a consultation, and
a vote (either by the panel or by the membership)
