I disagree. I'm sure that, if you ask them, many of the members who voted
for ICANNATLARGE as our name did so less out of a desire to align with ICANN
than to preserve the name recognition. But regardless, there are not just
two polarized "pro-ICANN" and "anti-ICANN" groups in our organizaton, as
some have been maintaining. There are also people like myself who, while
wishing to continue working with ICANN, also want to see us grow into an
independant voice for Internet users, that will treat with numerous
Internet-related bodies, governments, etc. to secure a voice for users in
the control of the Internet.
That said, however, I agree that our *immediate* goal must be to get
involved in ICANN and its issues.
