RE: [atlarge-discuss] calling all aussies

Well I for one here in the antipodes see great value in a regional group to
facilitate a voice in gTLD development and action, I'm heavily involved in
the ccTLD acting as a business user and consumer representative on many
panels, here in AU and indeed with ISOC-AU and auDA as a Member of both,
Director (ISOC-AU) and candidate for election as a Director (in the Demand
Class) of auDA... I was even tempted to offer the 'off the shelf' Model
Rules for Incorporation I have here from the NSW Dept. of Fair Trading for
modification and registration here but figured after the run David's offer
went "well why bother"...

What I don't see is great value in wasting my time and energy contributing
to an organisation that seems set on a vacillation, circular argument and
implosion course and who view FAR TOO MUCH of the needs of the global
Internet Community At Large through the filter of a 'US-centric' view (and
yes please note I did not use a mnemonic there) I am however also a "fairly"
patient person and I've been more than willing to lurk, hang in there and
hope that WHEN this organisation "gets it's act together" we can start
making a valuable contribution... However as I have earlier posted to this
list a regional approach to a global organisation is a concept that has my
definite and active support.... Andrew I look forward to working with you
and others to further this direction.

Just a note to provoke all Australian subscribers.

Given that there are bound to be a fair number in here and that we face
different situations under .au I am wondering if there are enough willing to
become involved in a regional group?

If you are interested please state so to me and we can see where it leads.

Thank you.
