[atlarge-discuss] Re: PANEL CHAIR ELECTION - Free ISOC Membership

Eric,

I believe you say that in jest. If not the ISOC now has open enrollment
(see: http://www.isoc.org/ )their Headline now reads "Free Membership",
I guess is they can't give them away.

However according to the Editor: James M. Galvin
<galvin+isoc@elistx.com>
Monthly news letter.

"We are now almost 13,000 members strong, distributed as follows:

North America 4,217 (33%)
Europe 3,819 (30%)
Asia/Pacific Rim 2,380 (19%)
Africa/Middle East 1,711 (13%)
South America 482 (4%)
Latin America 212 (2%)
Total 12,821
... "
(Ref: http://www.isoc.org/members/newsletters/)

IcannatLarge is a 'different-breed-of-cat' I am willing to give the
panel 3 months to produce some tangible issues.

However they have came by their seat, be it expatriation, orphaned, or
exile, we should abide with reason for a reasonable amount of time.

My impression of the ISOC is that they have vested themselves 'into' a
type of Org., which is in contrast to: say Jefsey's perspective, my own,
and yours.

We can make better, holistic Org here at the IcannatLarge, with a clear
Membership voice and Panel compliance to that voice.

Richard Henderson has 'voiced' great appreciation for this aspect, and
Vittorio from time to time has as well 'come around' in his thinking.

We (the Members) have a responsibility to voice (mandate) the panels
objectives. They have the responsibility of seeing it through as the
representative Voice the members.

My opinion of Vittorio's first order of business is to designate the
ISSUES. The issues as they relate to the:

DNSO: the Domain Name Supporting Organization
ASO: the Address Supporting Organization
PSO: the Protocol Supporting Organization
Icann/Iana Relations: the Lines-of-Communication
Icannatlarge: the Structure of our Org

This will provide us focus points, and recognition reference point to
within our Org as to who-is interested in what. Lets get to know us
better!

I think with people like Bruce Younger on the panel we will see a Panel
with a more consistent behavior and instated moral obligation to the
processes of Democracy.

Three (3) months fellows, to show us your stuff.

I stand ready for action and at your service.

James Khan
