Yes.  I'm running Windows XP (tweaked to keep people out, with few default
settings), and ZoneAlarm firewall software (I don't like XP's built-in
firewall), on a PC sitting on a local network using a non-routable address
space, behind a router using Network Address Translation.  According to
Steve Gibson's Shields Up! all the systems on my network are black holes --
bits go in but they don't come out unless I push them myself.  I also run
Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition, AdAware 6.0 *and* SpyBot 1.2 for
additional security.

I do client-side engineering for a living.
