This sounds excellent!  I understand what you're doing, but don't have the
skills to set it up myself, so I'll defer to you and Abel to get the voting
system set up and working.

In the interim here's what I can be doing:

-  I'll draft a message to the membership asking for nominations and
questions, and probably include Joop's question list as an example, to
reduce duplicate questions!  I'll try and get it drafted tomorrow at work,
and post it on the Panel list for your and Eric's review.

-  As soon as we have the message where we want it, I'll be more than happy
to send it out to the membership list and gather the responses.

-  Every day or so I'll post the current nominations to the Discuss list.

-  If a person is independantly nominated by two members, we can treat that
name as being seconded.  The rest can be presented to the Discuss list.  If
any nominees are not seconded, we have to decide whether we pass the names
to the membership for seconds.

-  As nominations are seconded, I can notify the person and solicit a bio
and candidate's statement.  We probably want to post them on the Web site.
I'll look at this later tonight and see how complicated it might be, and if
doable I can do that as well.

BTW, I still havent heard back from either of you as to the timing I
suggested.  Here it is again:

I'm thinking two weeks for inputs from the membership after the message goes
out, 7-10 days for the membership to review candidates statements, and 7-10
days to conduct the election.

Is this timeline acceptable or do you have alternative ideas?
