I registered www.ikann.org this evening. I quite like the idea of setting up
an alternative icann and making it a people's governance of dns -in-exile.
Why bother trying to kowtow to their board via their ALAC? Why give them the
kudos of participating in their empire?

I sort of like the idea of creating the home of the real at large (the
accountable, democratic movement to represent millions of ordinary users) at
www.ikann.org, and attracting sympathetic organisations to submit papers and
participate intelligently, and simply "set up camp" outside and opposite
Icann.

Its not a question of trying to make one single dominant group, but
providing an umbrella space for the growth of an alternative dns universe to
the autocracy operated by the DoC

Of course .org is still inside the icann-governed kingdom, but that's where
the debate and discourse mainly takes place right now.
