Dear Polling Committee Members,
Dear Watchdogs
Dear Candidates
Dear Nominees
Dear Members
I am Jefsey Morfin and I am to report the status and the coming
events of the "icannatlarge.org" Panel election. I hope you will
pardon my Frenglish.
You may post comments on the icannatlarge.org mailing list or send a
mail to the Polling Committee Members at atlarge@execlub.org (your
privacy is totally respected at this address: please indicate your
name and e-mail in your text if you wish a response).
1. election organization and announcement
This election has been called by a motion proposed by Vittorio
Bertola, then Chair of the Panel. It was unanimously voted by the
Panel. It has been organized by a mail of the remaining Members of
the Panel (Eric Dierker, Jefsey Morfin and Bruce Young) sent to all
the Members of our organization on the list indirectly obtained from
Vittorio Bertola, after he resigned.
This announcement created a Polling Committee. It is made of these
three Panelists and called for Watchdogs.
1013 Members have received the announcement and will be sent this
mail. 59 members have not updated their mail address and did not
receive the announcement.
2. nominations and acceptances
The announcement defined deadlines: May 8th 00:00 GMT for nominations
and May 15 00:00 GMT for acceptances. To the request of the organizer
of the icannatlarge.com forum, nominations were extended until May
13th 00:00 GMT.
163 seconded nominations were received. As permitted by the
announcement many had been seconded by non disclosed nominators, but
all of them have been endorsed by two or three public nominators.
All the nominations, seconding, name of the nominators, number of non
disclosed nominators, and the received answers are published at
http://execlub.org/atlarge.htm. This page can and should be copied to
the other @large web sites for reference.

3. debating and voting periods
Considering the number of candidates and the interest of a longer
debate, also the load imposed on its Members and on the Watchdogs,
the Polling Committee has decided to modify the voting period as
follows:
==> Sun May 25 00:00 GMT
Ballots will be e-mailed to the Members, and voting begins.
Each ballot will include an ID code unique to each member.
The list of unique IDs will be provided to the Watchdogs.
Ballots with more than one destinee are discarded.
Ballot replies to atlarge@execlub.org will be forwarded to a mailbox
opened for each watchdog.
Only the first ballot received for each unique ID code will be
counted.
==> Sun Jun 1st 00:00 GMT
Voting ends. Watchdogs will collect and count the votes, and publish
the results on the Discuss list.
The watchdog's list will be posted to the Web site.
4. Organization of the debate
The debate is held on the icannatlarge.org Discuss mailing list.
To subscribe to the Discuss list, send an empty e-mail message to:
atlarge-discuss-subscribe@lists.fitug.de
It is expected this debate to be courteous and exempt from any ad
hominem.
Non-Members are welcome. It is expected these guests will respect
others and be respected as if they were a Member.
>From now on the Watchdogs will receive an anonimized copy of the
mails sent to atlarge@execlub.org.
5. Ballot text
Announcement said :
==> Fri May 16 00:00 GMT
Final ballot text and voter list supplied to Jefsey Morfin.
Due to the change of dates, Members and Candidates can still send
suggestions for the ballot document to Jefsey Morfin until Thursday
21 00:00 GMT. He will be responsible for splitting the questions in
consistent themes and for the presentation of the ballot.
Each question will be headed by: the voter ID, a question flag, the
number of the question. This way, anyone consulting the global file
of the ballots will be able with a simple "grep" command to retrieve:
- all the answers of a voter,
- all the answers to a question,
- the answer of a voter to a question
and to know if a voter voted several times; without ever knowing who
the voters are.
The list of the voters will permit the Watchdogs to filter the global
ballot file and to only retain the first ballot of registered
Members.
----------------
Your Member Voter ID (VID) is "2482587". It is a random unique
member.
A random 2 letters checker will be added for this vote. Please do not
disclose your VID.
The list of the Members' VID and e-mails has been provided to the
Polling Commitee Members. The list of all the VID with checkers will
be provided to the Polling Committee and Watchdogs before the
begining of the vote.
