If this is what all candidates and watchdogs will do, it is enough for me 
for the purpose of this election.
Jefsey,  as long as you are running this election you can make the 
(interim) rules.  Can you please repeat the call to the candidates to 
provide not only an election statement, but also a public identity, here on 
the list or in the forum

Not all candidates appear to have subscribed to this list.
They will not hear our calls.

Could you make list-subscribing  a condition for standing in the 
election?  Or, if a candidate cannot handle a ML, at least a registration 
in the Forum? It is a bit strange how someone can be a candidate and not 
even bother to subscribe to the only common ML or web Forum.

We can refine such rules later, but I am prepared to agree with Joanna, 
Joey and others that a minimum of identity verification is needed for a 
candidacy.
