The members of the groups that you mention in your post are all individuals
representing a commercial enterprise, or other organization. Our
membership, on the other hand, is made up of individuals representing
themselves. We do not accept companies or organizations as members at this
stage. At some point we may, under a different structure, and then we will
want to know about the company or organization that an individual
represents.
It could be argued that a member of this group should be required to declare
an affiliation to ICANN for example or to one of the constituencies that you
list below, because of the commercial relationship that they may have with
the "consumer" community that we represent and a consequential conflict of
interest. However, I believe that should only apply if the individual
aspires to take a leadership role in our organization or assumes office.
Once more, agreed. Further, I think thatany members who are to be
elected or put in some position of trust among us, must offer a
disclosure of some of their contact details (as well as a CV or Bio) for
the general membership to peruse.
