Hi Martha,
Credit where credit is due. Joe Borda also deserves praise. However, this is
not a competition, at least I hope it is not. Everyone is working towards
the same end.

Having maintained a dignified silence throughout discussions, Joe has won
the moral high ground, and has certainly demonstrated that he can deliver
useful ideas in a practical form of benefit to the organization. I suspect
there's a lot more where this came from and while Paypal does not suit
everybody, there's a place for Joe's ID system as well, so let's not shut
either effort down  until something better is adopted.

Sotiris authority for this comes from a longstanding committment to the
issue of ID verification and a far greater knowledge base than most
participating members. The extent of damage caused by kooks, fakes and paid
sabotuers in legendary, and  explains in large measure where any hostility
is coming from and why it is being directed as it is. In the absence of any
formal ID testing,  this is just another way to flush out the rot, and I
don't think it will abate until some form of ID is in situ, but still means
a trlatively, short-lived difficulty.

So I think we have to accept the good guy/ bad guy routine until we're
through this phase of member verification, then we will only need to argue
about the issues.

Can't wait!

I'm also taking this opportunity to agree with walter Schmidt on the need
for regular progress reports on the ID issue, combining all efforts onto the
official website, which is....?
