Re: [atlarge-discuss] Membership fees
I agree with Abel on this - instead of putting up the tollgates, we should
be lowering the drawbridges
If people believe in this venture enough, then they'll pay what they can.
We'll get far more money from sponsors and supporters in the end, if we just
grow big enough.
People should be *free* to participate and vote, because they're voting
about *their* net
We should send the message that *everyone* is welcome and fully equal,
regardless of ability to pay
The only passport control on the motorway should be verification
For every $5 you charge for membership, thousands of people will be put off
joining...
...and that's *exactly* what ICANN would like
