RE: [atlarge-discuss] Webmaster "team"

AS I explained earlier, there were very valid reasons to limit the time
frame of this "vote" which was far more a poll of 3 and later 4 people
then anything, I fail to see why, if all 4 are online that day there
would be a need for 5 days other then delay. Seeing as I ended my 2 week
tenure as chairman and hugh as a member of that webteam was taking over,
there was arbitrary need to get it done before I stepped down, otherwise
who would have cast the deciding vote in case of a tie?

As for your suggestion to allow more people; though I am a firm believer
in many hand making the work light, I also believe in democracy and the
panel decided that 3 members was in view of the responsibility more then
enough to start with, hence the text of the motion that initiated this
team.
It does not mean others can not contribute, it does not mean that groups
of members can not have pages on the site, on the contrary they can and
they should it just means that we do not need an unworkable mass of
people that need to vote on changes and have functions that might not be
really needed.

If someone wants a sub-page(s) for his group, coutry, or just to blog,
we will definitely support that as long as it relates directly to our
organization. This does not mean that they can go about changing other
things on the website, this means that they will have a limited access
to the website and it means that every entry on the webpages for the
organization falls under the responsibility of the webmaster.

The panel discussed this matter thoroughly and did not come lightly to a
3 member team, but it was by far the most reasonable number to keep
things within a workable situation.

Kind regards

Abel
