When Irish rock band The Corrs gave an impromptu concert at the
European parliament in Strasbourg, they were part of a sophisticated
lobbying attempt by record labels to hijack the European Union's
directive on copyright protection. Euro-MPs flocked around Andrea
Corr, the lead singer, to ask for her autograph. They may remember
her on Monday when members of the parliament's legal affairs
committee vote to amend the copyright rules regarded as the most
lobbied directive ever.
