Revised 'snoop' plans due  

The Home Office is to publish revised proposals to regulate access to 
telephone, internet and e-mail records.  

The original plans were described as a "snooper's charter" because 
they would have allowed personal communications data to be seen by 
dozens of public bodies.  

The new consultation papers, due to be revealed on Tuesday, have been 
watered down to reduce the access originally proposed.
