                    General Information:
                    A contract to study the organisational issues
                    raised by the predicted growth in Internet use in
                    Europe is now the subject of an open invitation to
                    tender from the European Commission, DG XIII.
                    The study should include topographical and
                    hierarchical aspects of numbering and addressing
                    systems, sealing of domain names, traffic capacity
                    and physical security and reliability of the
                    Internet backbone and related services. 
                    Remarks:
                    The deadline for requesting tender documents is 15
                    July 1999. The deadline for submitting tenders is
                    29 July 1999.
