Conference on Taxation of E-Commerce, Muenster, 3 November 1999

On Wednesday, November 3rd, 1999, a workshop Taxation of
International Electronic Commerce will be held at the Westfaelische
Wilhelms-Universitaet in Muenster, Germany. The workshop is organised
by the Institute for Information, Telecommunications and Media Law -
Civil Law Unit - run by Prof. Dr. Thomas Hoeren.

Topics will be international direct tax and VAT implications of global
electronic commerce and specific administrative issues, such as tax
collection and enforcement. Lectures will be held by Prof. Luc
Hinnekens, Baker & McKenzie, Mr Michael Wichmann, German Ministry of
Finance, Berlin, Mr Simon Woodside, OECD Fiscal Affairs, Paris, and Mr
Arthur Kerrigan, European Commission, DG XXI. Each Lecture will be
followed by an open panel discussion. Among the participants in the
panel are Dr. Guenther Strunk, IFA, University of Hamburg, Ms Ine
Lejeune, PWC Brussels, Mr York, Arthur Andersen, Ms Nancy Perks,
Senior International Tax Manager, Microsoft Ltd., London, Mr Frank
Steimel, Siemens AG, Munich, and members of federal revenue
authorities of different countries.
