Dear all,
I propose we try to tackle two issues this week:
== I. List charter
ftp://fitug.fitug.de/pub/icann-drafts/draft-roessler-icann-europe-charter-20000911.txt
The list charter seems to be uncontroversial, so
we should get this off the to-do list this week.
However, we might consider an anti-crossposting rule
and *filter* (as in place on the DNSO-GA list). There
are numerous ICANN-related lists, and if Icann-Europe
gets all the CC mails to IFWP, Domain-Policy, IDNO-
Discuss and NCDNHC-Discuss, we are going to *drown*.
Is it technically possible?
== II. Statement on assembly/council
There seem to be varying views among Icann-Europe
list members (and the European At Large candidates)
how exactly a European assembly/council/forum/whatever
should be organized -- fair enough. But there seems
to be a consensus that participation of At Large
should be ongoing and should not be over after 10th
October.
So I was thinking about a statement that the Icann-Europe
list members
- agree on such a European At Large Member forum,
- want to work with Icann (and others?) on how to organize
and establish it,
- want to apply guiding principles such as openness
and transparency,
- invite everyone in Europe interested in ICANN-related
matters to join the list!
Once again: There will be (media) attention for such matters
on 1st and 10th October. If we want to start this ball
rolling, here is our first chance.
Best regards,
/// Alexander
