Re: [ICANN-EU] ccTLDs to ask for BoD seats?

"Some companies aren't waiting for ICANN to act. Many of the proposed names,
including .web and .biz, have been available for years through directories
that fall outside ICANN's control."

In my opinion, the DNSO has provided very little to the process
and will likely provide less in the future.

"ICANN represents that it has no authority to implement new TLDs, and that
instead, it merely makes recommendations to the Commerce Department, which
retains the ultimate authority to make such decisions. ICANN further
represents that before any such recommendation would be made, ICANN would
have to successfully negotiate a fairly complex agreement with the selected
applicant. "
