hello Marc and list,

I have the question - not the answer. But that's coming soon (I hope), too
;) I really think about random numbers. As also Oliver said - we won't be
happy with 10 or 100 new TLDs (which you might not remember like random
numbers, too).

or if there are in Germany more then

or if there are in my hometown more then perhaps

or if there are more brackers in eg. Munich or hamburg then

no, sorry. you come here from the 100th into the thousandth. That won't work
(or at least I don't believe it will). How many Mueller do we (as an
example) have in Germany? Quite many. Alone in Munich (1.3 mio ppl in there)
you've got about a thousand. how many people from these thousand have got
the name Michael? about 40. So how do you want to deal with these 40 people,
coming from the same country, the same state and the same city? Do you want
to give them numbers? Numbers for the people living in a big town and no
numbers if not necessary for the ones in smaller towns? Hmmm. Somehow that
sounds unfair to me... [nearly like discrimination of big towns (<eg> not so
hard :)]

yes, I know. But how is it with DNS. I come back to my question - how will
it look in 20 years? ICANN and the whole domain system - yes, we - have to
think about how we can deal with the still growing importance of the
Internet and so also the DNS. How do you see the future in this direction?
How many gTLD's will be (in your opinion) available? Will children in 20
years be able to have the same chances (eg. in getting a domain name) as we
have (or had) today?
Which way do you want to go to ensure this to the next generation?
