Folks, we're starting to see an inflation of mailing lists on very
similar, and related topics. Namely, discussion of ICANN and
related issues.
This implies that expertise and discussions will be scattered over
these lists, becoming less effective as this happens, possibly even
dropping below the critical mass. Please try to avoid duplication
of fora, and try to concentrate on few well-managed and
well-announced lists which have the infrastructure necessary for
fruitful discussions. Such lists may actually happen to be come
crucial with the future development of the ICANN @large community.
Scattering the community (possibly even along national borders, or
in order to provide support just to specific candidates) won't help
the cause which seems to be common to most of us.
I'd suggest that, at some point, we try to get some overview over
the lists which currently exist, and try to get list members and
owners to merge those lists which are, by their topic, essentially
the same thing.
For the moment, this may mostly affect Lutz and Francesco. However,
I'd like to ask the others to keep this in mind too.
Please, let's try to concentrate and coordinate online activism
within the @large community at few places, so we can be effective
and create competent output.
