At all candidates and AT-Large-Members
Hi, all,
Many non-Germans are surprised and ask whether it happens still
fairly with this election. I mean, we cannot change it, but it is
also the result of the fact that Germany is a large part of
Europe and that already Internet in Germany finds a large interest. And,
of course, there are groups with real large membership like Andy´s.
Which we should however now discuss, it is that no German
hegemony may develop with the choice of the directors, if we want to
remain a real European group.
I´ts still mysterious to me, as we can bring the nominating process lucky to
the end. I as a candidate do not have e.g. to today still no letter
with the PIN, so that I ca´nt activate my membership, thus also my
voice to deliver. Andrew was in such a way points to extend the
period to the casting of votes up to 8.9.00 but in addition there was
no alternative in view of the PIN letters probably. I hope only that
we get it that also the 80% of the AT Large members, that did not
deliver yet their voice will still do this to be able. Otherwise to
the problems, which we now already discuss, still another much larger
will come!
Importantly it seems to me also that we should hope have and whereupon
work that we do not let everything sink after the election in October,
but up to then, thus as soon as possible into being should bring two
groups. One should be intended for the intensive discussion over the
future questions of ICANN as over question e.g. the establishment of
national ML´s, the other one for be, which wants only to be informed anyhow
about important questions regularly. I expect from those, which are
nominated by us and also elected then in October that they will cooperate
in the first group and inform us also regularly. Who works already on
the preparation?
I notice a large commitment of all participations, which are very well
supported e.g. in Germany also by the Site ICANN.de in the present
discussion. We must use this positive tendency, in order to activate
durably all members and in the future to have thus for those to
appropriate decisions a broad foundation. That is nevertheless our
actual goal.
Best regards
Christian Schultz
