[ICANN-EU] FYI: Spiegel online on ICANN primaries.

Spiegel Online runs another, rather polemic, article on the ICANN
primaries. I'm giving a rough summary.

The title is "Revolte des Stimmviehs", i.e., "revolt of the gullible
voters". The article claims that the ICANN establishment isn't
happy with the candidates leading the current primaries.

In particular, it points to ComputerWire story titled "Hackers
Hijacking Icann Elections?", which raises concerns that groups with
particular interests are hijacking the ICANN election procedure.

Esther Dyson is quoted as being afraid of "objectively stupid"
candidates being elected into the board of directors. "Objectively
stupid" is interpreted to mean "having the wrong opinions".
According to Spiegel Online, having "opposition" within the board of
directors is a worst-case scenario for the current ICANN
establishment. Andy, Jeannette, and Lutz are considered to be
possible "oppositionals" in the board of directors.

The establishment's judgement of the election process and the
results is interpreted as "vox populi, vox Rindvieh", i.e., the
voice of the people is the voice of the stupid.

I sincerely hope that Frank Patalong is wrong with this
interpretation.
