Dear all co-members,
who will ask where the non-voting 41.878 members left, will find several
reasons. I for example was deeply disappointed that the ICANN staff declared
at sept. that I wouldn´t have a right to vote because they had got no full
mailing address from me before sept.! Such foolish behaviour is in my view
typic for the ICANN-staff so that my congratulations for Andy are
accompagnied by my impression that the elections can´t be seen as a
democratic basis for ICANN, even when Andy personally will be a good example
for a real democratic result.
After the experience of so many faults ICANN has made during these elections
I hope that the control of the new members at the ICANN board will be more
efficient as it obviously had been till now. My best wishes to Andy and good
luck. Please have an eye on member-rights.
Best regards

Yes, and good luck...!

Or whether they gave up after experiencing the problems with the
'system'... Election.com was not working at the start for many
people. It is not difficult to imagine people saying "leave it",
given the number of failures with the running of this election on the
part of ICANN. Half of the people who applied were refused in fact to
participate, as you know. This will hang as a big black cloud over
this whole election.

I have tested that a number of times (also in the final hour), since
the whole election.com system made such a bad impression from the
start. I did not succeed to vote another time. So I think that at
least was working. I was pleasantly surprised for once.

The voting server was down approx. an hour (at least) before the
closing. Really DOWN. It came back in the air shortly before midnight
GMT. So they extended it for late voters. One wonders if they have
waited or gave up.
