Dear Jefsey, dear Jeff,
we are all a bit foolish working all days and nights, even at sunday.
But is it so difficult to find a solution for relative independence from the
USG? If we look for a simple and practicable way, I suggest the United
Nations or one of its daughters to take the burden of control the rooter.
Clearly the UN is no example of a lean organization, but it will be at least
independent.
And clearly said, I see no why the current structure of the ICANN Board does
not allow well for that to occur or why this could damage the stability of
ICANN.
Could we all ask Andy and Jeannette and all participants at the next meeting
at the board or next conference to discuss this way?
The time has come for working seriously together and towards important aims.
And independence is an important aim of our co-operation or participation
with ICANN.
BTW: Kommunalberatung means local consultation - I just arrived from Moscow
where I consulted with the state duma about the improvement of local self
government in Russia - , RA means advocate, and StD a.D. means former city
manager.
Best regards
Christian Schultz

Dear Christian,
At 22:04 14/10/00, you wrote:

I suppose that it is because it is pretty obvious to everyone that no
government
has any control but the USG one. And quite all the discussions are how to
get
rid of them in a concrete maner.
>Why we give in this ML the impression that no one cares about this theme?
May be you did not read the proper posts. But the issue is not to say we
want to be free from USG, but how. Opinions, all the more when based upon
tehnical or legal or poitical misunderstandings, are of no real use. We need
workable matter of fact action points.

I suppose that everyone here gave support to Andy or Jeannette. Now the
time has come for working seriously together.

BTW what is a Kommunalberatung?
