Thank you for your quick, and detailed, reply! Yes, I meant 'voice'
metaphorically. I am not the meeting attending type. Email is great and on
lists as this one, reaches many people that are interested.

No, my message was a bit vague, I admit that :-) There are some issues
recently brought up here, that are certainly in the scope of ICANN. E.g.
these multilanguage domain names. I would be very much interested what you
(and the rest of the ICANN Board) think about this strange introduction of
domains in other languages. It looks arcane to me, how it works. It may,
however, have a big impact for the future. Also now in Europe soon. I am
sure you know so much more about it than I. Polictics, including internet
politics, is partly education...

Apart from the ALM issue, which has priority, I think, my main issues would
be right now:

1. The UDRP revision that ICANN promised for 2000 and that has not been
started even. Plus the attempts by WIPO to make the scope of UDRP bigger.
2. Individual domain name owners getting a voice in ICANN.
3. Freedom of speech and information (which is also involved in item 1) in
general.

I hope that others on this list will also pick up your request to send a
list of important items.

Why not post them to this list also?

I have looked in the archives of the NCDNHC-mailing list regularly. But is
this not really for people representing a serious organization? I would
think that similar discussions with you would take place here. Am I wrong?
Isn't this list for individuals who elected you? Was it not started as part
of the ALM effort?

As far as I know there is not much happening in my country (Netherlands).
Recently personal domains were introduced, but they are not a success, to
say it nicely. They are in the form mueller.749.nl :-)
The government is looking into the workings of the NL-registry. There is no
report yet.

OK! Please tell us about all the topics you are already working on. I
understand you cannot post reports to every list on the internet. I would
not mind to join another list, if that is where you send information about
your work as an ICANN-director to. So far I saw so little.

Thanks again for your reply!
