hmmm....
May be we do not need to vote after all since we already have Satyajit as 
acting Chair.

I am not favoring a public vote
Disclosing a position when a secret vote is called is cancelling the vote

I suggest some standard democratic practice since we obviously have a need 
to coordinate.

1. we select the eldest as temporary chair with the youngest as temporary 
alt.chair in control.
2. he/she organizes the vote
3. he/she calls for a second vote about an alt.chair being elected
4. if positive he/she organizes a vote for the alt.chair
5. he/she steps down.

If we sticked to standard practices we should be through quickly.
