  Well almost right here Bruce.  Before there were "Users" (your term)
the US military was the only user of the Internet.  So there was still
a *Reason* for the internet to exist.

  Well let's not forget that the Internet is not JUST the DNS...  So
the focus cannot JUST be on one aspect or area of the internet...

  Here here!  I could not agree with you more here...

  Yes it is all too easy and done all to often.  Yet there is a grain of
truth in both...
