Re: [atlarge-discuss] Quis custodiet?

Hans, what does it mean, "The panel currently has a draft bylaws." Is this short for "Hans posted a draft bylaws" to a list? Does that make it a panel draft? Did it come from the bylaws wg? Jamie

Sotiris,

Thanks for pointing out David Farrar's excellent contributions on incorporation and bylaws. My apologies to Mr. Farrar, in that I failed to see his messages.

The panel currently has a draft bylaws. It should be much easier to work with Mr. Farrar's proposals now that we have gotten some focus on our own thinking!

A short while ago, David Farrar made the generous offer of
registering this organization as a New Zealand
non-profit. His proposal was a serious one and it
received next to no attention by our Panel which has yet
to even have begun discussing any feasible alternatives or
options. David followed up his first offer with a solid
draft of a possible constitutional document for the
administrative and executive sedimenting of our
organization. His submission was again given little (if
any?) consideration by our Panel. Instead, the Panel List
is undergoing a potentially distempering discussion on a
by-laws rush job where inflammatory language has now been
introduced:

It's nice to see that passion is still part of the
political discourse of the present day, otherwise I'd feel
as if I fell into a ward full of sedated and drooling
nod-givers right about now. What is happening here
exactly?

I'm with Danny on the proposal of a rule to ensure that
this organization's Panel NOT be made up of other related
organizations' Panel Members.

Sincerely,

Sotiris Sotiropoulos
