[atlarge-discuss] RE: [atlarge-panel] Membership Lists, Thomas Roessler, distance from ICANN

I concur, Richard. Thomas has ties to ICANN, but so do many of our members.
The fact that he has hosted our forums gratis, and that no detectable
"moderating" (i.e. censorship!) or mysterious access deletions are going on
(as was frequent with the ALSC list, if you'll remember!), is in itself an
endorsement of his support (Thanks Thomas!).

That said, I agree that at some point when we have the hardware, manpower
and dollars to support it, we should have our own dedicated Web and mail
servers. But for now, I am not concerned about Thomas' stweardship.

| Richard,
|
| IMO, Thomas Roessler has done a great job of providing lists
| that work, that
| are archived, and which are very fast, and he doesn't cause any
| problems or
| use this for any inappropriate ways. We are very fortunately to
| have his
| help.
