Dear Todd,
this is an acceptable position in the commercial vision of the namespace 
that ICANN supports. You will note that this is what the ALSC came with, 
proposing that @large would be people with a domain name.

There are many many objections to that.

1.  @large are not everybody. There are several english/amercian different 
litteral meanings of the word. This is like the torries and whigs. Internet 
"@large" have forged a new meaning for the word (this is why I keep 
writting it "@large" showing it is an Internet word. That word means most 
probably "people who considers themselves enough as a stakeholder of the 
Internet to claim being an @large Member of the Internet governance". This 
is consistent with the way you join the IETF, the GA etc... I for mayself 
do not consider me as at "at large Member of ICANN", but as an "@large 
member of the Internet governance"

2. we are many opposing the ICANN namespace doctrine, so you cannot ask us 
to define ourselves according to that doctrine. According to my doctrine 
mailnames are internet names the same as domain names, so are 3LDs, 4LDs 
etc. I acknowledge every non conflicting (technically or societally) name 
and therefore I accept many non legacy TLDs.
