Re: [atlarge-discuss] [Resignation] New panel elections?
Thank you YJ.
You have acted in accordance with the wishes of our membership, who have
given a strong indication that they want new elections, and want them now.
In resigning, you are respecting the democratic will of our organisation. If
anyone doubts it, call the Poll again, and you'll get the same outcome.
Having challenged you on this, and recognising that the same democratic
expression calls for my response as well, I am resigning from the Panel
tonight.
The membership runs this organisation.
I will continue to support the quest for a worldwide At Large (outside of
ICANN) and I will continue to post on the discuss list, and support the
transition planning for a new election.
I thank my colleagues on the panel and in our general community.
I will not be seeking re-election.
I hope I can serve as a member.
I believe in this organisation, if we can set in place the mechanisms to
allow the actual members to define and determine the goals and policies, and
if we elect a Panel which is subordinate to its members.
Sincerely,
Richard Henderson
