Re: [atlarge-discuss] [Resignation] New panel elections?

I'm already having a great weekend, thanks, Jefsey.

Just returned from the historic scenes in London.

Classic example of "bottom up" democratic wishes, and people ignoring them.

We 4 brothers and I (and various children) marched today.

90% of the British Public is against this impending attack on Iraq.

1,500,000 took part in the protest in London today (source: Sky News)

Possibly nearer 2,000,000 because some people were only starting the march 4
hours after others had arrived in Hyde Park, and when I left, I faced a
flood tide of people just arriving.

We, the British people are *not* part of what Bush calls "the alliance of
the willing".

My argument is exactly this, with regard to Icann at Large:

There comes a time, when the leadership ignores the electorate, when the
electorate themselves have to call:

"Enough is enough!"

George Bush is a fanatic, surrounded by fanatics.

His government supports ICANN and keeps it safe.

His government tries to retain an unreasonable hold over the internet.

This is why we are *obliged* to operate "bottom up" processes in our
organisation : the right of the membership to hire and fire at their will.

It should not be left to the panel's "largesse" to decide when they resign.

Joop's Poll gave a clear indication of what most members want.

Just like the British people did today (backed by weeks of opinion polls).

It is simply time to ask the whole membership *directly* if they want
elections now.

As I say: > >The members want elections > We have elections

Kind regards,

Have a good weekend too, Jefsey, and my thanks to France at this time.

Richard H
