Hi, Jefsey,

I'm not fond of the endless stream of duplicated messages
that fill up my mailbox faster than I can read them so I've
opted to keep my own atlarge correspondence on-list, with
very few exceptions.

Meanwhile, I think everyone here knows by now that I am not
a technical wizard and don't pretend to be one. Joop's
instructions about serving as "watchdog" for the Polling
Booth and statement of the requirement for reaction within
24 hours, and your own reference to the command-line interface
for your voting mechanism, have caused both Jan and myself
to wonder whether we can do what is expected of us.

Since the technical and scrutiny roles can be played by
different people, all that's needed is a willingness to send
us the ballots we're to count or let us know how often we
need to log into which directory in order to see how things
are proceeding during the voting period. Without clear
instructions about the procedures we're to follow, neither
of us will feel comfortable with the job.

The much larger issue is that this group has not yet
adopted *any* of the proposed voting methods as the one
we'll use for the elections. The work of the watchers will
vary with the system chosen and the official election of
the new Panel cannot be run by three different individuals'
methods simultaneously.

Bottom line: let's agree on ONE method and then act accordingly.

HTH,

Judyth
(willing to do anything within reason if you'll
only tell me what that is!)
