Dear Joanna:

A car accident can prevent anyone from doing anything.  It is wrong (and
totally unnecessary) to prejudge anyone of anything and impose arbitrary
long term penalties.  If an elected member fails to meet the terms of office
within the prescribed time, she has disqualified herself, period.  We then
move on.

I am, however, very interested in finding out how someone who is not known
by any other members, who has not given an email address (or responded to
correspondence at a given address), and who is not interested enough in the
job to post a single comment, can get the sixth largest number of votes.

Just who cast those votes, I wonder.
