A general response to this thread:

I agree with the concensus that the makeup of the Panel be chosen by the
will of the membership, not fiat of the Panel.  I was also a fan of a
smaller, more focused Panel, but, as Abel pointed out, the membership has
already spoken: 11 it is.  So let's move on to getting that decision and the
many others voted on codefied into bylaws as quickly as practicable.
