[atlarge-discuss] Cross posting

As long as I have been on the net, which is long, it has been a nuisance
to the majority of list subscribers and news groups that people
"cross-post" their writings to more then one list.

While we have at this moment in time only 2 mail lists in use, within a
week of taking the second one in use it is flooded with cross posts.

Now I set that second one up and it simply holds the email before
posting, so it does not even get to that list in "one go".

I was assuming that people who voted for panel members had the faith
that those panel members would pay attention to both lists, and not
concentrate on ivory tower lists only. I for one do, despite the
hardship it is bringing me, since I now had to add more hours in a day,
but I try and keep up.

Cross posting is not done consciously by all who do so, they simply
press "reply all" and there it goes....

If one looks at the cc-lists (and to think you can not even see the
bcc's) then one has to wonder whether all those people are so happy with
getting the same mail at least twice and sometimes even more then that.

I kindly ask you to try and stop cross-posting, to trim cc-lists (people
who are on this list will get the reply anyway!) and so stop a large
amount of aggravation by a lot of people.

With kind regards

Abel
