With this list, the problem is that the "reply-to" header is set to 
the sender of the individual message, not the list, so if you just 
hit reply, by default the message doesn't go to the list at all.  To 
get it to go to the list, you have to select "reply to all" or the 
equivalent on whatever mail program you're using, which results 
sometimes in several addresses being included from the original from, 
to, and CC headers.  That's probably why there's such a profusion of 
cross-posts to multiple lists and directly to individuals, and I 
sometimes get three or more copies of a message.  If the reply-to 
header were set to the list to begin with, people could use the 
normal reply feature of e-mail programs to reply just to the list.
