Re: Probleme mit Patenten auf AIDS-Heilmittel

Wie mir gesagt wurde ist der Pharma-Bereich noch der Bereich, wo Patente am ehesten
nützlich sind. Aber es ist schon eine "soziale Frage", dass Pharma-Konzerne
Millionen von Menschen sterben lassen...

In Brasilien übrigens werden seit Jahren mit Erfolg Medikamente gegen AIDS ohne
Patent-Lizenz hergestellt. Wie das geht? Der Staat hat es so beschlossen. Seit dem
sterben nur noch halb so viele AIDS-Infizierte wie vorher. Ein gewisses Schmunzeln
kann ich da nicht verbergen...

Diese "soziale Frage" jedenfalls ist die Extrapolation des Software-Patent-Problems
in die Zukunft hinein. Zwar werden freie Software-Entwickler nicht aus unmittelbar
diesem Grund physisch sterben, aber
- dass ihre Firmen sterben,
- sie selbst in einen Großkonzern "geknechtet" werden, um zu überleben, und
- die ganze Entwicklung der IT-Branche extrem gebremst wird
reicht ja wohl aus.

Und wenn dies der Fall ist, weiß ich ja, wohin ich auswandern sollte, nach
Brasilien. *G*
