The e-Economy in Europe: Its potential impact on EU enterprises and
policies
Brussels, 1-2 March 2001
Conference Programme and Proceedings
Final Report
The objective of this Conference was to gain an understanding of the
changes brought by digital technologies in the economy and of their
implications for policy-making. Among the participants were high-
level industrialists, entrepreneurs, consumer representatives and
academics, as well as Commissioners and Commission staff.
A first series of workshops analysed the impact of digital
technologies on different industry and service sectors, with a focus
on new structures and business models. A second series of workshops
concentrated on the implications for policy-making, focusing on the
internal market.
