General Information:
Candidates for an advisory panel to monitor ISIS,
the Information Society Initiative on
Standardisation, are being sought by the European
Commission.
The Information Society Standardisation Advisory
Panel (ISSAP) will monitor the implementation of
the ISIS programme, evaluate the results achieved,
and identify priorities and optimal working
methods for future initiatives in the field.
Expertise is sought in the following areas:
- technological expertise as regards IT and
related technologies, particularly
interoperability issues; - legal expertise as
regards standardisation, intellectual property
rights, competition rules and anti-trust
regulations; - socio-economic expertise,
particularly with a view to the market power and
potential market failures of electronic commerce
and public procurement; - consumer protection and
representation of public interest, especially
regarding accessibility, security, data protection
and privacy.
Interested persons must provide evidence of their
professional experience and ability by submitting
a detailed curriculum vitae.
Remarks:
The deadline for receipt of expressions of
interest is 5 August 1999.
