RE: [ICANN-EU] don't endorse me (oliver thuns)

Hi.

We may want to talk ICANN Staff into taking some actions following the
willingness of some candidates to drop out from the race, either in favour
of a different candidate or just to stay at the window and enjoy the show
;>).

We all agree, I assume, that somebody that is really willing to give a
reasoned vote will have to (at least) read all the 75 applications, and that
the size of the task may be such that he/she may be drifted away. I had a
friend calling me today just expressing his frustration in not being able to
figure out which are the best candidates.

So, there's already a provision for this case (see the FAQ at:
http://members.icann.org/faq.htm#dropout), but it will be unfair to simply
delete the former candidate from the list.
I think that the withdrawn candidates should be grouped at the bottom, with,
instead of the number of endorsement received, the mention "withdrawn on
yyyy-mm-dd" or "withdrawn in favour of <name>".
The pointer to the presentation page should be kept, because it is fair to
see, in particular in case of dropoffs in favour of other candidates, who
the withdrawn candidate is.

What do others think about this?
And ICANN Staff? <"Oh, no! More work!" ;>)>

Regards
Roberto
