[ICANN-EU] pooling plans and reality

In the beginning of this voting process quite a few people advertised
(either on this list or on their personal pages) that they will step down
(in favour of another candidate) or plan to pool with other candidate to
make the election more useful.

So far I only know of one case where this has happened (myself), and
wondered why so many people claimed to do that and didn't (or did
they? Never heard of any!). So was this just a nice publicity gag, or are
there really any poolings going on behind the scenes?

If so, please tell me, I am really interested!
