I may share your frustration, but that's besides the point.
Do you agree or not that the SO Directors are supposed to bring more 
"technical" insight, while the AL Directors are supposed to bring more the 
"users' POV"?

If I understand correctly, you are more of a "technical" person than the 
advocate of the users' rights. Why didn't you get involved in the 
"technical" infrastructure of ICANN (the SOs, for instance) and voice your 
opinions there (and maybe be elected as DNSO-Director to ICANN BoD)?

I have a lot of simpathy for the "technical" POV (it is my background, after 
all), but I cannot conceive a structure like ICANN to be responsive only to 
technical aspects. It will not fly.
