I don't think that is an adequate description of Fred Baker's current opinion.
I think the IETF community is slowly converging around a common opinion:
"the absence of alternatives clears the mind marvellously".
Some are more enthusiastic about this conclusion than others.
I hope to see IPv6 deployed throughout the Internet relatively quickly now
(quickly = within less than 2 years - relatively slow by Internet standards...)
