Esther,
Please try to understand what I mean.

One (wo)man, one vote ,*that* is the kind of uniformity that I am talking 
about.

The kind of principles that, for lack of anything better,  have proven 
their worth over time.

It does not mean that the individual icann members  are forced into some 
kind of uniformity, (like you, I celebrate their diversity) just that when 
it comes to voting, their weight is equal.
