Dear Joop,

Jefsey,
Is the WG-DNS an official creation of the Panel? Can you point me to its
Terms of Reference?
Mind you, I start to understand your approach of "all Chiefs-no Injuns"
now there is clearly so much lack of co-operation and such an intense
interest in personal control.
As *any* member can start a website and ask to be linked, a few more
Panel member websites will make very little difference. What you will end
up with is Parties.
Fine with me, as long as there is a solid co-ordinating icannatlarge.org
They will have their own ftp access and pages. All what the webmaster
will have to do is to keep a link active to it and possibly a form to an
headline of them.
Another link will go to the forum.
What about the existing content? Especially voting.htm and its record of
official happenings?
I get the impression from Jamie that he is more interested in getting rid
of current content. I wish he would specify *what* , so that I could act on
his wishes, or ask him for a Panel vote.
If it is about fresh content, a website http://jamie.atlarge.org would
certainly help. But he and other Panel members seem unaware that the
current Forum already provides for each member to create his own space for
posting proposals.
There is already a special section for Panel members. The Forum Admin can
create more.
The real issue I have is the membership registration and management. Can
you please document it and advise about its future management.
If the registration part of the website is still wanted , the new webmaster
will have the FTP keys and he can examine the PHP code at leisure. Maybe
the Panel will want some changes in the registration form, but nobody has
expressed any specific wishes, so far.
The future management of the registration facility and the database should
typically be the job of the new webmaster.
But the Panel and the members must be assured of regular data-backups to
people who stand well above the day-to-day political fray ,such as Karl ,
Andy MM or Katoh-san, and the future webmaster should commit to that.
