This is not true. There is a draft motion on the Panel to approve a
general membership vote. Feedback on the motion (notwithstanding my
solicitations) may have been low, but if you still believe in
democratical self-organizations, you should accept the fact that there
is an elected panel that has to approve things before they are done
(at least if they have to be done as an action of the organization
towards its members).
Dear Vittorio,

I understand that you see the members' initiative as an usurpation of your authority as "Chair of the At Large", as you call yourself. I know that you have done your best, even if that was spurred by the knowledge that you have no monopoly on polling the members.
But the problem is that the Panel is not delivering and the members are getting impatient.
I could wait for another week, but ICANN's ALAC marches on in the meantime.

Frankly I do not see that the Panel could endorse all that the members have proposed that I do for them within one week.
The Panel is now disintegrating and cannot deliver a quorum any more.
Democracy is best served by fresh elections at this point.
Richard makes compelling points about the need to listen to the members NOW.

It's not me who can endorse anyone (this is not a company and I am not
the CEO) - it's the panel.
Actually my second paragraph here was addressed to all listmembers. Sorry for causing a misunderstanding. I was calling on any member to endorse the action, not you or the remainder of the Panel.

I would suggest that you (and anyone else interested) review and
comment the draft motion:

I have seen it, but that proposal would yield only 6 questions, needs still more debate and has been two weeks on the table without decision.

so that I can put it to votes as soon as possible. Hopefully, enough
panelists will show up to approve it and then I'll be able to give you
the membership list and we'll run a proper vote. Otherwise, you'll
only bring confusion to our membership.
I do not want to bring confusion, but icannatlarge cannot proceed on hope alone. There comes a point that the waiting is enough.

I hold this Website Supervisory Panel responsible for the emasculation of the original site, to which the members signed up, for the killing of the web -Forum on the official site, not even providing a link to the revived Forum and for the deletion of the commitment to pass the database on to trusted members of the Internet community, such as the elected At Large Directors.
I am making clear that the referendum is unofficial and the Panel, when it becomes functional and produces a quorum, can either endorse or disavow the results and organize an "official" referendum.

I will start the Poll today.
