Joop: If you are so certain that this election is a sham, why are you
running as a candidate?
Of the 27 candidates, only 7 have made even a minimal contribution to the
discuss list prior to the election. And we are to choose 11 panel members?
Of the candidates available for us to choose from, only you and Sotiris have
any real experience in the previous (failed) attempts to get us organized.
You have both also failed to organize the election of a new Panel and failed
to support Jefsey and his team in the organization of this election. Why do
you find it so easy to denigrate the work of others while running for office
in an election that you say is a sham.
It is truly unfortunate that so many qualified people have declined their
nomination to candidacy. Could it be that they are burned out from the
futility of previous effort or are tired of the constant and destructive
negative rhetoric and infighting among the "experienced" members of this
list?
It is my sincere hope that when you and Sotiris are elected by default, you
will both work closely with the inexperienced "newbies" who have such high
hopes and who bring new energy to ICANN@ Large. Perhaps the lawyers and
accountants among them will bring the discipline and diplomatic skills
necessary to create a civilized working leadership. A leadership that is
capable of creating consensus based by-laws and a foundation upon which we
can build a structured organization this time around.
