Re: [atlarge-discuss] Is This The Party To Whom I Am Speaking...

Dear Ron,
we disagree on some things with Joop. Mostly because of different network culture and because he is specifcally interested in DN holders and I am more interested in SLD Managers.

On 01:09 26/05/03, Joop Teernstra said:
I "failed" to organize the election, because I was not given the latest voters list and I did not want to claim the "authority" that Jefsey and Bruce claim.
We do not actually claim it. Just say we received it in being elected and we had a duty. Or it was the end of the effort. Also, I do not want to be involved in trying to do something out of all this directly. What Joop could succeed in doing. And that I believe you could also help with some others. This is not IMHO an election to elect peole against others, but to renew interest and legitimacy.

Also, my only chance to run for office and organize better elections is NOT to organize the election in which I am candidate myself.
I am critical of an election for an 11 man panel, which I am afraid will paralyze us again and get only default candidates in.
If Jefsey would have heeded the April members' poll and gone for a 5 person bootstrap panel with a limited mandate I would have supported it more enthousiastically.
I agree with Joop (I think myslef 7 would be better not to give the feeling of a di-it-all thing. Even if acting only like a Supreme Court. Joop knows well that we had no capacity to do that. Our weak legitimacy was only to run a status quo ante election and the new team to get voted a final structure.
